Parents & Carers
At Rockers & Rollers we work closely with all our parents and carers to ensure that all our children are receiving the care and support that they need to thrive in our setting.
Tapestry
We use the Online Learning System known as Tapestry.
New entrants will be issued with passcode to gain access to the system and then you can update your details as needed.
Through the site, you can receive notifications by email of any updates to your child’s account. Your account contains your child’s personal care diary, so that you can keep track of food, toilet training and any other practical concerns through live updates during each day.
You will also receive updates of what your children are up to during the day in the form of photos and videos and you can exchange messages with the team through the system.
Nursery Kit Bag
Your child will need a combination of the following items in their bag to be suitably prepared for a busy day at Pre-School. Please be aware that we use the outdoor spaces in all weathers and also please make sure that everything is clearly named.
Everyday Essentials:
A change of clothes
A water bottle
Cooler Days:
A warm, waterproof coat
Wellies
Warmer Days:
Sun hat / sun glasses
Sun cream (should be applied by parent or carer before arrival but will be topped up throughout the day)
Babies / Toddlers:
Nappies (if required)
Breast milk, Formula milk & bottles (if required)
We have aprons that the children are asked to wear when accessing messy play or water play activities, however we do advise that children wear old clothes.
Please note that wet wipes and Sudocrem are provided for babies and toddlers, but if you would prefer us to use alternatives, you will need to supply them please.
Our Team
All our staff are qualified Level 3 or above and hold up to date DBS checks and paediatric first aid training as well as safe guarding children training.
We regularly open spaces for student placements from local colleges, Strode, Bridgwater and Bath Spa. Students will never be left on their own with children and will always hold an up to date DBS check.
Sleep & Rest
At Rockers & Rollers we know that well-rested children have more fun; so, each of our areas contains a dedicated and restful sleep room.
We provide cots and low level beds for children under 2.5 years old in the Babies and Toddlers rooms, but we also provide a comfortable place to rest and nap in the afternoon, if required, for our Pre-School children too.
Security
On entering Rockers & Rollers day nursery, you will find a buzzer system on the lobby door. This is to prevent parents or carers, or any other person, gaining access to the nursery without permission. Entry is gained by pressing the buzzer, which will be answered by a member of staff.
Any visitors or contractors will have their identity checked and will be asked to sign in.
Only the persons named on each child’s registration form may collect children from the setting. Anyone other than a parent or carer or other named individual will be asked for a password, submitted to the nursery at the time of registration and stored securely.
Please note there are security cameras in every room within our setting and in the garden areas to help protect our children and members of our team.
Accidents & Illness
We reserve the right to administer basic first aid and treatments where necessary.
Parents and carers will be informed of all accidents and will be required to sign an accident form.
We may ask parents to withdraw their child from the setting if we have reasonable cause to believe that they are or may be suffering from, or has recently suffered from, any contagious disease or infection.
Parents are requested to inform the nursery if their child is suffering from any illness, sickness or allergies before attending the setting and no child should attend the setting until 48 hours after the last occurrence of any incidences of vomiting or diarrhoea.
For accidents of a more serious nature, involving hospital treatment, all attempts will be made by the nursery to contact the parents but, failing this, we are authorised by your agreement at Registration to act on behalf of parents and authorise the necessary treatment.
